While Brightshores Markdale Hospital is the heart of healthcare close to home for our community, no single rural hospital can provide every service, specialty, or level of care. Through the Brightshores Health System, patients seamlessly access care across multiple hospital sites, receiving specialized treatment where it is available while continuing to receive care and recover closer to home whenever possible. This integrated approach helps ensure residents have access to a broader range of services than any one hospital could provide on its own.

As a community-led organization governed by local volunteers, the Markdale Hospital Foundation is committed to strengthening healthcare for our community. That means investing in priorities at Brightshores Markdale Hospital while also supporting strategic regional initiatives that improve care for the patients, families, and neighbours we serve. Whether care is delivered in Markdale or another Brightshores hospital, our goal remains the same: ensuring our community has access to exceptional healthcare when and where it is needed most.
